clutch surprise

mikefedzen Sep 18, 2012 03:19 AM

Did you ever almost throw away a clutch a couple times, then never did and something ended up hatching out? (Probably)

My Mosaic het albino cal king laid her 2nd clutch this year on June 17th, she ate a couple of em before I took them out, some were obviously bad, the rest headed in that direction. This month I thought about tossing them a couple times but didn't.
Last night I saw a little albino baby in there.

Albino striped with a couple breaks in the stripe.

And here's a couple pics of some of the last cal king clutch I had hatch, post shed.

Wow, that clutch does look bad. Congrats on the albino. What I really like here are the half band half stripes. Those seem to be rarely produced. You got really lucky with two.

Yeah,it's amazing how bad some eggs can look, and still hatch.

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!

What's wrong with using CAUTION?!?!?!

Nice surprise Mike. The only thing that would have made it better is if it had been and albino mosaic!

I have seen some bad eggs hatch, but those did look pretty far gone. Congrats on that : )
