It's a 'HOLY CRAP!!', that's what! Beautiful hondurensis...

With a belly full of yolk and a slight difference in genetics.

Talk about vanished pattern! Even the mask is barely there! Very nice. Would love to see the parents too!

Very sweet! You can barely see the bands. I wonder if they will be even less distinguishable as it gets older?

It's tipping instead of bands. There is no banding at all. The tipping will get darker as it grows instead of fading away which it would do if it were banding. I have a couple of older ones that I've seen how their coloring progresses. It's strange since it's reverse of how they normally change as they grow.

I should clarify. Obviously as you know hondurans will tip up some as they grow just as most milk snakes do but when vanishing pattern ones have some banding as hatchlings, the bands will fade away to some degree where as the het hypo in my first photo will only tip up somemore.

Wow! And the second one is even crazier than the first. I've never seen Hondurans with that much reduction of black markings. Different indeed!

Did anyone guess the small difference in genetics between the two pictured above?
Here are somemore from the same clutch.

Unreal Randy-congratulations!!!! That is amazing!!!! I will give you $50.00 more than Don-

Randy, that one looks like a het hypo since it has a black band between the eyes and the other single looks like a hypo since the spot between the eyes is light and not black. Don

RandyWhittington Sep 22, 2012 08:09 PM

Yep, that's it. It took me a long time to produce the first patternless het. I've had a couple others with just a faint pattern when they hatched which faded away but that's the first one right out of the egg with no pattern other than the head pattern and the cool little black tail tip. You can see where it will have some tipping but it's not banded at all.

They'd be a must have imo if the only hint of black was the mask... really nice Randy!
