That is very similar to the reverse striped Southern Plains Ratsnakes my buddy Toby Brock produced this year from second generation offspring of a wild caught reverse striped meahllmorum that Todd Hughes found.

yeah she's a very cool looking snake. Hey john! Do you know how the hatchlings turned out from that reverse striped Pantherophis emoryi meahillmorum?
Thanks!

So, is this a Sonoran Gopher snake or a Bull snake? What state was it caught in?
Thanks

Life is like a bunch of fish in an aquarium....we all get along (bonding) until I want to eat you....and I do.

Being from Cal, I always called them gopher snakes..LOL! I live in NM now and around here they call them Sonoran bull snakes. Caught her about two miles from my place night driving.

That is because there aren't any bull snakes in California and the only bull snakes in NM are in the very eastern edge.
The "Sonoran Bull snake" is an improper name.

I know that on both accounts. Try telling the locals that! The Bull snake I caught was in the South/Western end of the state.

There must be something going on in New Mexico because I've been approached through a friend if I was interested in a striper sonoran/bull except this specimen had a stripe along it's last half of it's body with an unusually dark neck kinda like a stillwater hypo. If that makes any sense.
Maybe the fallout from the Alamogordo test site? LOL! I've seen a few other striped bulls, just wasn't able to catch them.
