Not Bonded...lol

Acutally I accidently killed this little amel ruthveni. I closed his tub on his head (yes I'm pissed) and I didn't want it to go to waste so it became a meal for a getula.

....for the 1st time ever here, I had a FL king (Palm Beach county) hatchling eat 2 of his sibs before they had their 1st shed! Damn thing looked like a bologna in the box with 7 little worms crawlin around him.......I've had corns eat each other when 2 tried to eat the same pinky, but never kings and never so fast or so soon after hatching!
I expected him to regurge and maybe even die but he's fine and has been taking rodents ever since...

Heck...that tongue shot was the easiest.....
It fell out as soon as the Cali King grabbed him mid-body......
The ruthveni was lifeless before I threw him in with the california king.

John, I did the exact same thing with a pyro two years ago. I was pissed as well. AND I did the same thing you did---------getula food. I do that with all my captive bred babies that die in the egg or don't make it. No need to waste them if they can be used on little pain in arse eastern kings. I actually had a zonata die in the egg this year and fed that to an eastern. I thought about posting the pic, but then thought about how crazy some might go. LOL

I closed his tub on his head

Great... I've told myself my fear of accidentally doing that to one of my stuarti is simply a case of my always thinking the worst... now it's all too evident it's not an unfounded fear.

Thanks a bunch John...

We've had this happen with Mandarin rats, with particularly sticky tubs. Wrong head, wrong time. Your heart just sinks.

Fascinating result on this one though!
