What happened to the Schneller Red Line?

simplyPsychonaut Oct 02, 2012 12:10 AM

In 2006 I was lucky enough to purchase a Schneller/Ginger Red line male and I was just curious if anyone else was lucky enough to do so as well. But seriously, where'd they all go?

The Schneller 06 litter was one of the most intriguing litters I have ever seen color-wise(I'm a sucker for deep, dark reds).

The websites down and outside of the infamous picture of the amazing female that was produced...

...which I heard died, I've not heard anything about them.

And theres are only a handful of pics on the internet, 99% of them seem to be missing in action, but the line appeared to have so much potential.

Anyone know anything about the subject?

06 Hypo Red Line

Schneller red lines were a great group of animals and sadly a line that was never fully developed. AJ and Trey no longer keep reptiles, which is sd. AJ did contact me recently to say that he is thinking about getting some reptiles again, but not boas.

Anyway, I am not sure they bred red to red. I am working with their ginger project (which is the second picture you posted. It is a OT hypo ginger, not a red line). We did an OT ginger to OT ginger this year and got a litter of slugs and one still born baby that was rather exceptional and unique. We will hopefully know next year if that is actually a super.

As far as the red line goes, I know a few people bought red line animals from AJ when he sold off everything. I am not sure what they have done with them. Have you got a red line yourself?

Yes I do have one, well, actually after what you just wrote I'm a bit confused as to whether it's a redline or a ginger?

It was a male(non-hypo) from the 06 litter, I think it was priced at around $350 or so and I had my eye on it and one day the picture of it in the price list section disappeared.

When I called them they told me that had removed it from the price list because the colors it was beginning to show made them want to hold it back, but I managed to purchase it from them for a higher price.

The infamous picture of the super red female I posted is a sibling to my male. I am very close to purchasing a female hypo for him this weekend but am on the fence as to whether or not I REALLY want to get into breeding boas.

My cousin has a adult 8 lbs Sharp strain and the plan was to see if the red would carry across into the sharp morph, btw, I sent you a private message.

This morph(or whatever we want to refer to it is) is so very confusing to me. Even the way he shows his colors is strange, some days he is brick red, other days a more washy-pastel red/orange and then sometimes he appears very golden in a way that reminds me of a jungle, lol, he's like a chameleon.

Today he doesn't seem to be in a very red mood at all but I will take some outdoor pics with my (very)terrible flip phone camera and post them ASAP.

Since you have a lot of experience with these lines what's your take on them?

Took the pics, he's in his "golden mood" today lol.

I have to get the pics sent to my email in order to post them(i have an ancient phone) so it might be later tonight or sometime tomorrow before I have them up.

But hey man, lets see what your collection of Schnellers looks like, I'm very curious as to how they have aged color wise but I can't find any pics of other animals from the 06 litter ANYWHERE on the internet.
