Definite Double Het White Wall and Amel

Het Yellow Amel from Yellow Amel Female & WC Refugio Co., TX Male

White Wall Male

Yellow Amel Female from Yellow Amel Female & WC Refugio Co., TX Male

Yellow Amel Female - Dam to all 9 Amels and 1 Het

Yellow Amel Male from Yellow Amel Female & WC Refugio Co., TX Male

Some may say that the amel offspring of the yellow amel look like Splendida, but that is to be expected considering the WC male that was bred to the yellow amel was from an area of intergrades where both splendida and holbrooki phenotypes can be found. And I guess the WC male was het for amel and the odds got blown out of the water......9 amels and 1 het hatched out in 2011. The het looks 100% holbrooki....2 of the amels look like holbrooki and the others look more like splendida with some increased speckling.....

It's going to be fun breeding all possible genes together next year creating multi-hets.....
I am in need of a lavender pair......I only have a het male that is also het for white wall.....Next year there should be some definite het yellow amels that are possible het for lavender and whitewall.....Then there will be some definite double het white wall and amel and more yellow amels.....

Great looking snakes. Awesome. How do you get them to pose for the camera so good?

Thanks...
It takes alot of patience....LOL
Sometimes I just set my hand over the top of the snake and start shooting pics while I remove my hand.....
I take many shots, choose the best and delete the rest....for each snake.....It is very time consuming, especially with a large collection.

I've got two groups complete and about 11 more groups to go....

Nice line-up of animals there, John!

Yeah, that insanely yellow female with the convex, domed scales is just ridiculous! Must be the strong "banana" Cal. king hybrid influence (per Davis)..AAHAHAHA!!...

And amazingly her het son looks just like a holbrooki....and a few of her amel offspring are yellowing up......

I think this occurence is exactly like how an amel tricolor's white bands (where the black is absent) turns to yellow.

Banana Cal. kings hatch out yellow. These hatch out white and turn yellow.

I just need to find some lavenders...You know who has any?

Yes, that is very similar to how certain individuals and/or bloodlines of certain tricolors also gain TONS more yellow over time as they mature (e.g. certain amel ruthveni, amel Hondos, amel nelsoni, etc..)......likely from progressively stored carotenoids, as those always start out normally white.

No doubt in my mind that it is ALL holbrooki. That was very clear right from the beginning as we both know.

It is pretty odd how the lavender holbrooki are no longer seen in the hobby like they were years ago, but I will definitely let you know if I hear of any through the grape vine.

I had a female lavender but it escaped. She was the first snake in my 20 years of keeping them on a large scale to have escaped and never to be found.
Maybe I can talk Don Shores out of one or two....lol

In all honesty and with no offense meant... I don't care about hets/hypos/amel/anorexic animals for the most part... but again in all honesty, those are some really fine looking animals John... with my liking for stark hard contrasts that white wall is pure eye candy.
