Sure have been enjoying your recent pictures even though I haven't commented on all of them. Love that "applegate" special.

Thank you Dennis....
I can't believe that there aren't any multi homozygous pyros out there yet. I think a Sentz Line Hypomelanistic Hypo-E or a Hypo-E Applegate Special would look very interesting.....

I'm surprised to read this. I pursued the multi-morph pyros as soon as i had the requisite gene pools, as i did earlier with hondos. I had a pyro I believed was hybino, before i liquidated my collection 4 or 5 years ago. And if memory serves, I had double hets for snow, and others.

I was working with the "anerythristic" (actually hypo-E) from Ric Blair; Sentz line hypos, and Barczyk hypos and amels. There were many beautiful animals, fascinating variants (a "light" Barczyk hypo in addition to those like what he originally produced, but distinctly different from the Sentz animals), etc. I thought there'd be more progress on the various types by now. I'll check with a few people who got my animals...

I also had Applegate specials but i think i kept them separate from the other morphs, in the belief no enhancements would come from such double-homozygous animals.

Terry....I have a pair from Jeff from his hypo-e line....they are definite het Sentz line hypos and possible het hypo-e......

And I believe your hybino was the only double homozygote but as with tricolor hybinos it was visually an amel......
And I agree, it would be hard to improve the look of an Applegate special.
The only pigment there is to work with isvthe erythrin. So a hypo-e special could be interesting.

Nice setup!

You got some new pyros this year, nice hatchlings with dark red/black crosses, like em cause they have a cool contrast!

Thanks Michael...the "set up" is just for pictures though.
All of my colubrids have deep aspen bedding.

I've had those to "high black" pyros for two years now, but they are in shed right now so those pics are a year old....lol

And I like them as well. I think a Sentz Line Hypo with all those crossovers would look great.
