Mega X Bailey Ghost

RG Oct 05, 2012 08:00 AM

I just did this ENTIRE POST and thanks to our Kingsnake.com folks your session times out when posting a message and then you lose the ENTIRE POST!!!!!! This has happened many times before, and that's why I usually copy the entire post before hitting "Post Message" but I forgot...oh well, here we go AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to Doug Mong for letting be borrow his prized female Bailey Ghost. If it wasn't for folks like Don Shores and Doug Mong, I'd have to wait YEARS for more outcrossing opportunities.

The Sire, Mega Tricolor Het Snow:

The Dame with the clutch:

Had 8 eggs, 7 were fertile.

Some pipping shots:

Some just hatched shots:

The clutch, in no particular order:

#1 Hypo Male Het Hypoerythristic (Anery) 50% Het Amel

#2 Hypo Male Het Hypoerythristic (Anery) 50% Het Amel

#3 Ghost Female Het 50% Het Amel

#4 Ghost Female Het 50% Het Amel

#5 Ghost Male Het 50% Het Amel

#6 Hypo Male Het Hypoerythristic (Anery) 50% Het Amel

#7 Ghost Male Het 50% Het Amel

Some pics using my point and shoot camera, this camera does a better job of capturing the color of these guys.

They all look really nice, very purple/gray looking Hypos and Ghosts.

Oh, and yeah, I HAD to hold back this girl!!!!

Thanks for looking...

Very nice Rusty (and those making your project possible). I could have guessed you would keep that ghost with some vanishing pattern going on. That ghost marked #3 is very nice too, as are they all.

I agree!

#3 is a very close 2nd!

But you can't keep them all!!!!

That's a really nice clutch Rusty. I like the one you kept.

Thanks Don!

Cool reverse extreme!

Very nice Rusty!

I really like the contrasting accentuating colors on those intermediate tricolors man....

Yep, no surprise as to which ghost you are keeping..LOL!..she looks almost exactly like the mother as a youngster and another 2009 baby of hers I kept back.

cheers, ~Doug

Yeah, I thought you'd think that!

That's why this line is so cool...whatever you put it with it produces similar phenotypes!

That's a super-cool clutch, Rusty!

Very perceptive Jimmy!!!

Yes, it is VERY common within at least my Mega Tricolor.

As you know, the Hobby Hondos are a mixed bag, I personally think there is a little more Poly influence, at least with my male.

It could also be an independent genetic variation too.

However, this female is from the Mega Tricolor X his "Triple Het" mother:

I don't have an updated pic of her, but she's going to turn into almost a bi-color...she's going to look so much like a "Hypo Poly"!

Here's a snake I told Terry M. about years ago that he acquired:

I expect her to look very similar.

Cool huh?
