Brumation time for me

joecop Oct 19, 2012 10:10 PM

Well, it's official, I am moving the family to Kansas. In getting everything ready for the move I put the kids in brumation a few weeks early this year. Just finished cutting the heat and darkening the room. (I have been slowly cutting the temps back for two weeks.) I did keep the hatchling rack up and running for now, but that will be shutting down in the next three weeks as well. They are getting their last feeds in tonight. Hope everyone else has a good "break" time coming up and all goes smooth!!!

Hey Joe

I'm right there with you. Actually I stopped feeding Oct 1st and shut off heat today. Most of the syspila and Triangulum shut down in Sept anyway. they always do.

Congrats on Kansas and good luck with the move. I moved my collection from Pittsburgh to Charlotte several years ago and all went well. It can be done although you are going a bit further.

Now I have yet another reason to visit Kansas!!

Yes, you are going to have to come visit!!! We are not too far apart Dave, so it goes to figure our snakes are doing the same thing pretty much. How did you move the snakes? Did you bag them and put the racks in the truck ?

Joe
