L.t.g. X Morelia v. cross possible?

L.t.g. X Morelia v. cross possible? Easy, just joking... (:

I didn’t think so either, so maybe my black milksnake just thinks he’s a green tree python! I always feed him thawed frozen mice, and he customarily likes to swoop down on them from a tree branch attached to the roof of his terrarium. He then proceeds to crawl down, and bring the prey to either of his two large hide caves.

Doug I.D.’d him recently, and he definitely IS getting darker with each shed. The technique he uses when he eats though had me worrying he might turn out as a solid green 6’ long gaigeae.

I hope the photo is entertaining!

Very entertaining... as I've mentioned in previous posts I often let Ebony, my adult BM, and my adult polyz out for "walks" in the house... Ebony would invariably find her way to a couple of large house plants and climb up into them... two years ago at least those plants simply couldn't withstand her weight so she stopped the climbing behavior... despite her seeming desire to climb it somehow never occurred to me to provide her with a climbing "perch" in her enclosure... thanks to your post I'll soon provide her with a perch that can support her bulk and see if she prefers above ground as apposed to the below ground behavior one expects from milks.

Thanks for a post that makes me curious about something!

Thanks, Gerry!

I found a nice piece of driftwood, cleaned it up, let it soak in soapy water with a little bleach, and dried it in the oven for about a half an hour at 300°F. I doubt it if any critters in the wood made it.

All the sankes I've ever kept were provided with some sort of branch hanging from the ceiling of the terrarium or its' side, and all used it for climbing regularly. It's good exercise for the snake, and keeps them from becoming couch potatoes. Letting them roam areound the room is great too!
