Female Bit Male...Question

venomjunkie Oct 22, 2012 05:06 PM

Hello all,

I haven't posted on this forum in a very long time but basically what happened is I was introducing my male to the female's cage in an attempt to breed my pair of common boas (Boa constrictor imperator) and I did not realize that the female's head was on the end that I was introducing the male on. She is very cage defensive to begin with and his introduction spooked her so she latched directly onto his head. He miraculously has very little noticeable damage on his face/head and seems to be acting normal but my question is, would it be ok to reintroduce him in a few weeks after I make sure that he is ok? His health is obviously my #1 priority and if that means keeping them separate then I am fine with that but the pair has been housed together before and have shown no signs of aggression towards each other. I am sure that she just got spooked.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Dylan

I mean I kind of figured that it would be ok after making sure that he's alright, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the input!
