Typically, how do beardies' colors change from hatchling to adulthood?

Just wondering.

if you buy a high colored baby with high colored parents your chances of having a high colored adult and that baby coloring up into adulthood are better. but there are no guarantees, you could buy a dull baby and it could gain more and more color into adulthood, you could buy a flourecent orange baby and have it dull to brown into adulthood, it really all depends, but look at the parents, they usually are a good indicator of what the baby could turn out like. and of course, try and find a baby that already has good color to improve the chances.

same dragon...baby and adult

as far as how do they change.. er well.. they could lighten, they could darken, again the parents are a good indicator, some phases tend to gain more color and or lighten, such as a snow dragon, usually will loose color and lighten to a white as adult as babies they tend to have more pattern and browns and greys, however, they could darken also.

some dragons will stay mainly the same, with some lightening or decreasing of pattern. i hope this helps answer your question, its really not black and white, all dragons are so very different in how they grow and change and husbandry can also play a big role.

Mine are more standard issue, but I love them anyway.

carrick was really "standard" when he was a baby, i was so excited when i opened the box and saw his brown and grey coloring, thought he was beautiful and rich colored and i fell in love immediatly, loved him before he was ever orange, i like some of the normal colored dragons the best, especially the really dark grey and black ones, think they are just amazing, and these days quite rare sounds like you have some nice babies, should post some pics sometime for certian.

Maybe I will, but I don't feel like getting the camera right now.
I saw all of your pics. They're really nice. Actually, you look pretty good too. Fortunately (or unfortunatly, depending on how you look at it) I've already got a really cool girlfriend.
Anyway, if you live anywhere near Toronto Canada, you could check out my dark babies. But you probably don't.

But hey, thanks for replying to my post. And your dragon looks really amazing.

but i now live in san diego CA, been here for about 4 years, moved out here for a guy.. hehe.. fortunatly it worked out, was 19 and stupid, usually those situations where the dumb teenager moves to a different country for a guy dont work out.i used to live in the outskirts near Richmond Hill, not sure if ya know where that is. anyhow, when ya feel like getting the camera out, id love to see pics

thanks for the compliments!

my dragon looks just like yours ( the baby pic) except mine has developed an orange line above his lip. what is the probability that mine will have the same color if not more or less than yours as an adult?? he has only gotten this line after his first body shedding...

My first clutch of eggs has hatched.
My female is grey-brown with a tiny bit of reddish-orange here and there.
My male is brown with dull rusty colorings and dull bluish grey highlights. He's also got a little bit of reddish orange here and there.

The babies' colors are all over the place. Mostly they are standard brown-tan-grey, but some are different. A couple of them are black with mottled grey stripes. They look really dark. And, a couple are really light tan with mottled reddish-orange stripes. The lightest one is really pretty (I think), and I'm sort of wanting to keep it.

So, that's why I'm asking.

well that little one may remain light, if i were you and i liked her now, i would keep her and see how she turns out, she sounds nice , she could stay about the same, perhaps she will lighten even more, its always fun to see how they turn out, sorry i couldnt be more of a help, just never know with these guys...
