Nicest Granite Ever

RyanT Oct 30, 2012 07:20 PM

Couldn't resist snapping a few pics of this girl after she shed tonight. I bought her about 4 or 5 years ago but the only clutch I ever produced with her was stupidly incubated on Miracle-Gro perlite, so I don't know for sure yet what she can actually do. She's one of my strongest eaters and has now gotten up to 3240 grams, she's a beast. I always wonder if she'll turn out to be something other or "more" than just an incredible Granite.

I'm not a big fan of the Granites but accidently produced this clutch.

Nice...Black Pastel? Those 2 genes do seem to go quite well together.

It was supposed to be Cinnamon Het Albino x Het Albino, but after 20 eggs and two years, somebody ain't Het Albino,

Miracle-Gro Perlite? Wow, how big were the babies?

Never made it out of the egg.

Great looking Granite. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who made the mistake of using Miracle Grow Pearlite. I figured what would a little fertilizer in the mix hurt. Don't do it people....it will kill and deform your clutch.

It actually never occurred to me for a second that it had Miracle-Gro IN it. Totally naive I guess but I just thought it was the brand name. Never realized it till half of my eggs died that year and I checked the ingredients on the bag. And I don't remember the exact numbers but I know I had 3 clutches that year and exactly half of the eggs died at various points of incubation. On the other hand, the ones that did survive were perfectly healthy. Go figure.
