This Boa...

theserpentsrhere Nov 08, 2012 07:52 PM

I got this boa a couple weeks ago. It was seized from the previous owner for unknown reasons and ended up with me. I received her with no information. When I saw her I immediately noticed how bright and colorful she was. Then I saw her eyes. I read on many sites that having a white top half of the eye could indicate a het for albino. This girl has it. I just felt like sharing this with the reptile community and possibly get some opinions. Here are a few pictures. Thanks for reading!

The Het Albino Boa Eye Marker is a technique I've used as well as others to sort through
baby Boa litters that are possible Het Albino . . . .

So what I'm saying here it is relative to the other sibling babies with in the same litter. It could even be said to be somewhat of a subjective tool
and it is only really helpful when comparing whole litters of
related sibling possible hets.

There are many, many Boa litters Born with Boas that have super bright upper eyes and are not Het Albino . . . .

So you have to look at this tool as being useful in a relative situation . . . as I said above it's relative to the
other sibling baby Boas from the same litter of possible het for Kahl Albino Boas . . .

I hope I have not confused you even more but this Boa does have extremely bright upper eyes . . . .

So that is not a negative factor but you have no other siblings to compare ikt to.

This image here shows some silver flecking as well . . . . usually I look for silver and black flecking when looking at possible het Anery Boas . . . . . .

I've been succesful in picking out het Anery Boas through that particular marker as well . ... .

So this is an interesting light and pretty good looking Boa . . .definitely not a dark ugly Boa .. . . I like it !

Of course everything I say is just my opinion and all of it is subjective . .

Good luck , if it's fem and has good size there are many directions you could take her in . . . . have fun
