Hell Yeah people, hitting a double recessive is one of the best feelings there is in this hobby. It took sixteen eggs to hit this angelic snake. Five years ago Jared took his fav and I took my fav and paired them up for what we thought would be one of the best double recessive mutations, and my oh my... she has not even birth shed and is bewitching to say the least. I am happy with the way it turned out, it looks just like I imagined. It is the brightest axanthic mutation that I have produced to date. Oh... by the way... here is the run down of all three clutches for all you statisticians out there.
First clutch out
1.0 clown 66% poss het Axanthic
0.1 axanthic 66% poss het clown
2.2 normals 66% poss dbl het (bummer)
Second clutch
0.1 clown 66% poss het axanthic
0.1 axanthic 66% poss het clown
1.2 normals 66% poss dbl het
We where really starting to sweat that we were going to miss this... it was the second to the last egg we cut when we seen the pure white and blushing sides with that black that only the vpi axanthics get, and then my snake room went into a surreal state and we started jumping up and down hugging each other... it was like our first born, time seemed to stop, remembering how long it took to raise these girls up to get to this point it was a fun ride and she is here. I think this is the fourth Axanthic Clown ever produced!!! Oh well I could go on for ever here is the last clutch.
Last clutch
1.0 clown 66% poss het axanthic
0.1 axanthic 66% poss het clown
1.1 normals 66% poss het axanthic clown
0.1 AXANTHIC CLOWN
Keep up the dream people!!! I just want to thank the men and women that put there lives on the line everyday for us to do whatever we want to do.
