OT TopKnot

pyromaniac Nov 18, 2012 05:55 PM

This little female has a pencil eraser sized tuft of fur on her head. It is a different texture than her silky brown coat, and is the same tan color as her belly (she is a tutone or TAN)When I first saw this I thought it was a piece of pine bedding stuck on her forehead, and tried to flick it off. She has a litter of fuzzies but none show this odd trait. Am hoping by breeding her back to one of her tutone sons I can get another topknot.

Thats cool! hope it works. I do similar breedings with my feeders too. The nicest ones get promoted to breeders. Nice to see u posting here again. All your pyros are killers, those high band count exceptionally sweet...Dave.

Thanks for the kind words.

Sorry I have posted this recently but they are all in brumation now and I don't want to disturb them except for water bowl changes, ect.

Nope, she will never be a food item until she dies of old age.

Disclaimer: I do keep several snakes in pairs, and some in groups. However I realize that things can go wrong, and I have to keep a close eye on those groups, to be sure they are not being adversely affected by these living conditions. Also if one happens to eat it's cagemate, it is 100% my fault, and I know the risks in advance!

I was putting my weanlings into a grow out tub when I discovered this little tutone, or TAN, male with a tuft of hair on his forehead. The tuft is silver like his belly, whereas his upper coat is black. He will be TopKnot's mate once she has weaned her young and has rested a couple of weeks. These mice are my long hair ones. (he does not have lice, that is pine bedding bits; this new camera shows everything! LOL!)
