Hi,
I am a reptile specialist at one of those crappy pet store chains, and we have had a baby savannah for about 6 months (since the store opened). Since no one has seemed interested in buying it, my boss is talking about half-pricing it with the hopes that someone will decide to buy it. This critter has a ton of personality, and after months of taking care of it I have gotten quite attached to him/her and I think I might buy it if my boss puts it on sale. Plus, I would much rather take it home than let some moron buy it because it's cheap.
I'm not new to herps, but I've always had the smaller lizards (mostly various geckos), boids, and turtles and tortoises. I understand the basic care of Savannah's, but I've only dealt with very young ones. What I need to know is, if I bring this guy home and provide it with everything it needs as a juvenile, how long will it take for it to become full-grown? What are some ways to house an adult, and what would you recommend as minimun dimensions? I am thinking an adult will need a whole bed room. If so, how do you monitor-proof a room?
Hope these questions aren't too silly! Thanks a lot!
