Does this sound like a scam?

This person wants to buy I snake from me. Today I received this e-mail:

Hello,

How are you doing there today and how is business? Hope you had a great weekend. I just want you to know that you will receive the check in the mail soon. There was a little problem with the amount on the check which I think it should not be a problem between us because according to the instruction which was given to my client was to issue two different check payment one for you for the exact amount and the second check payment for my cousin at the hospital to pay for his surgery bills, so the problem is that the amount that was suppose to be on your check was written on my cousin check and your own on his check.

So what I want you to do for me now is that once you receive the check kindly take it to your bank cash it, deduct your money and do me a favor by sending the remaining balance to my cousin. Below is the information which you’re sending the money to via Western Union Money Transfer or Money Gram.

Doug,

I do give them a lot of credit for improving their almost-mastery of the English language over the past few years.

The "buyer" was responding to an ad I had posted in this site, so other breeders might want to be wary.

Yeah, those Nigerian's have evolved from trial and error to put a personal touch on their ridiculous scam as though they have an interest in what you're selling..LOL!...

Seriously, you have to ask if that is a scam? You possibly think it isn't?

I would go ahead and say do it. You'll learn.

Yes, I had a "Nigerian Prince" send me a check for a Volkswagon Superbug engine that I was selling several years ago (the check was an obvious fake).

This person claimed to be in the USA:

Definitely a scam. I received the same correspondence for a ball python ad I placed.
