Strange Color on New Pickup

jondrawdy Dec 14, 2012 01:56 PM

I picked this girl up recently. She was 2300g and fed lightly. I obtained her through a local classifieds ad. The original owner had her for 8 years. She was an adult when they obtained her.
She is very lightly colored, really highly flamed, and very yellow in her pattern. Her head is extemely light and is "bald" in the middle.
In the end I know she is likely a normal, I just thought I'd get opinions. To me she looks a bit like a vanilla, but she has a very busy belly pattern. Naturally the plan is to breed her to a normal and see what pops out. Who knows maybe I'll get lucky.

Not sure how to put pics here, but they are on this flickr account. Have one of the head and some good ones of the body. All the pics have normals in them for comparison.

Thanks in advance for input,

Jon

See, I wouldn't breed it to what I thought it was. If you miss on the super, you won't know...

So if you think it is vanilla, breed to a fire. If you get fires and vanillas, then you know.

I agree. I plan actually to breed her to a normal male. I don't want to have to figure out what's what.

IMO, you should never breed a normal male to anything. It's a waste of a good female.

Normally I wouldn't, and we may go with a pinstripe or some simple gene. I just don't want to muddy the waters and have any issue telling what results I get. Thanks for the input.

Who knows. Maybe we will get lucky with her.
