I bought a Coral Sunglow a few years ago. He was a great eater, never had an issue. In june he went off feed. I thought nothing of it because it was the same time my others went off. Well, yesterday I went down and he had shed. A perfect one, but he was cork screwing his neck. When I got to move him he still twists his head back and spins around. Is it possible that a 3 year old could have carried this that long? Not sure how he would have got it. I have 7 other snakes, all sep cages and always feed sep as well in the cage and never reuse anything or if offered to one who denies do not offer to another. Just trying to figure out what is going on with him. Checked temps and they are good, and the perfect shed makes me think it is not heat related. Any thoughts.

Yes it is possible, boas are asymptomatic carriers of ibd, they can live their whole lives sometimes and never be affected or show symptoms of it.

DONT jump right to IBD. Lots of diseases can cause an increase IB levels. IBD is not a common disease and is VERY hard to determine. Many things could be affecting your boa.

I am just recommending that you dont jump the gun and think the worst and start offing your collection in a panic.

Best of luck.

Thank you. What else do you think could be causing it. I thought maybe heat but the cage I think is perfect. I am at a loss right now because as you stated it is not the most common thing to hit them.
