BY JOHN F. HILL | STAFF WRITER | Published: December 19, 2012; 03:20 PM | Comments (0) More than 18,400 rodents and 600 reptiles discovered at a breeding business in Lake Elsinore under investigation for animal cruelty have been euthanized.

The animals found at Global Captive Breeders were put down during an investigation into animal cruelty and neglect at the facility, Lake Elsinore said in a news release on Wednesday, Dec. 19.

“After careful analysis, a team of veterinarians, reptile specialists, and animal cruelty investigations experts determined that due to the extreme neglect, cruelty and dangerously unhealthy long-term conditions, contaminated environment and the potential for further suffering, euthanasia was the safest and most humane option for the animals and the community at large,” the city said in a statement.

The facility’s owner, Mitch Behm, agreed to surrender the animals and have them euthanized, the city said.

I wonder how they were kept.

I mean to go from bad keeping to euthanasia, mean really bad keeping with lit of infection, bacteria, etc.

Poor ones.

like this they often KILL them..

PETA is famous for this one..

Dogs...Cats....

it seems the animals are props and subject material...to lure you and make you think they are all about animals....

When in fact they seem more all about MONEY!!!!!!

Once they caught someone doing something...and can bring it to light the animals seem almost disposable.... and I love "for pubic protection...the animals get euthanized"..... are you KIDDING ME!!!!

Not worth even the words.....

We need to get some responsible breeders together and make a PSA video showing the general public that we do not condone or support this kind of stuff...so they know that not all reptile breeders are horrendous monsters.

The general public tends to take one bad apple and lump it in with the rest of the barrel, and the orchard for that matter.
