Dilemna concerning grapewood.

dvknight Oct 06, 2003 06:14 PM

I have a large piece of very sturdy, sandblasted grapewood that is in my project 90 gallon. One end is "foamed" into the background, the other curves down to the ground. All of it (except the bottom part that curves to the ground) will be in full light at all times, in fact, I was planning on it being my Tillandsia branch, high and drained. I am beginning to worry about the wood rotting or succombing to fungus/mold. I have Weldbond left from the background, and it can also be used as a wood sealer. "Would" the Weldbond prevent fungus/mold and rot? I would assume so, but would like any advice from people who have tried something similar. BTW, the Weldbond dries ABSOLUTELY clear.

That sounds like it would work and i have thought of doing that same thing with some nice peices of wood that i knew would never survive in the tank , but i have a question about weldbond, where did you get it and does it come in a tube or what? Also how much did you use and what size of tank?
thanks
