Maybe still around but I thought it got taken off the shelves six years ago. I still quarantine new stuff but I wait to see mites before I use anything but vegetable oil. Provent-a-mite works very efficiently, however I've had friends that found out some reptiles can have severe reactions to pyrethrins in that treatment.

I take my boas out of there enclosures and use head lice spray. I had an albino that was peppered with mites, started using the spray, haven't seen a mite in years

The problem with Lice sprays is the meds in them only last hours. And its geared for Flesh eating Mites not Blood Suckers.
Provent A Mite was Produced only for Blood Sucking Mites only and it has a Time release for 30 days to ensure the eggs and babies that hatch weeks later die as well.
Provent a Mite is what most of us with Large collections use.

That couldn't be further from the truth, many have used the Equate brand Head/Lice spray for years for successful reptile mite eradications. The Black Knight spray was reintroduced acouple years ago under a different formulation.
(Sold by a Vendor that no longer sells Temp Guns on KS)
Like the head lice spray it too has exceptional knock down
and semi residual larve kill.
Follow up treatment inside of 11 days insured successful eradication from large facilities like pet stores
I'm using walgreens brand spray, 8 bucks for a small can. I've tried the nix and zoo med stuff, it's all junk. I saw immediate results with the lice spray. I'll use a lil bit of spray when I change bedding and water, let it dry for 15 minutes, put the snake and water back in. Its easy and beats ordering spray off the internet
