. . . these are my first for the year (all right, all right, the ribbon was found on Christmas day :P). Baby ribbon snake, and is this a central florida crowned snake or a peninsula crowned snake? Both found in Citrus County. Nice warm winter here, except that means all my snakes are still awake, wanting food.

And I'll see if I can upload a couple pics of earlier finds from 2012 (mud snake photo didn't work on water snake forum, though the pic is in my photo album here?!)

Really. And I'll try to upload a cottonmouth I came across as well.

Excellent finds. Love seeing herping pics of the KS forums.

for the Tantilla, I want to say Pennisula.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm leaning that way, as it does look like it has a band past the crown. Marion County (where I've read is as far south as they occur) isn't all that far from Citrus County.

You liking it up there? Stuff should be moving again after the cold front.

Hey, Mark! It was nice (especially in terms of herp finding--even came across a florida worm lizard there!), but impractical, so I've once again moved. I'm in Pasco County in a much more spacious house and mere minutes away from work. The corn pictured above was found in Pasco in a neighbor's yard (I removed it for them). Hope all's well!

Cutting down the commute time is great, isn't it? We'll have to get out in the field sometime up there...
