If anyone ever has any questions........

JLSReptiles2011 Jan 20, 2013 01:39 AM

just ask the question. I will try my best to answer them. I am normally on this forum 3 or more times a day and pretty knowledgeable about ball pythons. Except of course the breeding. I have a book regarding breding and information on BPJs, but no experience breeding. Trying to get my first breeding season under my belt this year. Other than that I can try to answer questions you have. Just to let you know there is someone who monitors the posts on a regular basis.

What's a BPJ? Is that some sort of snake sexual position?

I don't care what your smart remarks where Mykee. I was just offering to answer anymore questions who had because it seems like it takes an act of Congress to get a response from people on here. It took 2 to 3 days for my questions to be answered. Who cares how many ball pythons I have owned and what not. I have been around reptiles some I was 12 and I'm now 32. I have owned snakes on and off for many years. I admitted in the post I wasn't that knowledgeable about breeding. I never said I was an all star, unlike you Mr. Michael Jordan of ball python breeding. The BPJ that was in the post was most likely an auto correct made by my phone. All I was doing was offering to answer questions and I get responses from a few pricks that seem to know everything ball python related. Well, I will not be discouraged and if anyone has questions I will still answer to the best of my ability.

What is sad is most won't see this because they don't visit here on a daily basis...

To many people get on here to ask simple questions that are serious to them but get BLASTED from every direction...or post willing to help and someone else wants to see a PHD in snake breeding.
SO if you are disappointed when you open this Forum every day and see the same post from three days ago on the first page and want to know why its so slow.....look in the mirror.....

The above message does not apply to all...but you know who you are..

The forum has just been dumbed down.

I understand your point, but you got to admit when the OP comes and states he has little experience but will answer questions, it is a little amusing. But this isn't the reason for the decline on the forum. It started happening a couple of years ago, remember the time when Hot Dog was posting pic after pic of high dollar multi gene animals breeding, he couldn't get a reply, when he did he was chewed out for showing off. I'll admit his camera skills were terrible, but still. Posts about big time breedings and fancy hatchlings were ignored while a simple newbie question gets detailed answers from a crowd. You reap what you sow.

I never offered advice for breeding, but I guess I didn't specify enough on what I was offering to answer questions on. I was offering answers for general questions regarding ball python care. However, if I were going to offer advice on breeding what does it matter if I reference a book or reference a website as long as I let them know I am not experienced and if they want a more skilled answer then they would need to wait. Instead of someone saying thanks for stepping up and wanting to answer questions and that it's good for me wanting to help out, i get snide ass remarks and talked to as if I don't know anything about snakes. Mykee needs to reflect, he once was not the great white hype of ball python breeding he is today and he once was a beginner and instead of being a prick could offer some if his experience to someone like me who has none. Now that he wants to come iff the way he did I very seriously doubt I will ever buy a BP from him, do any kind of business with or refer anyone I kniw to do business with him. I would pay more for the same morph snake someone else was offering to avoid business with him. He may not care, but that's how it is.

It seems like you are trying to put the cart in front of the horse. Seems everyone who has access to Wikipedia and has owned a ball python for a week these days are self-professed experts. Here's my issue: I was like you, difference is for the first five years of me being in this hobby, I knew that I knew nothing, kept my mouth shut and absorbed as much info as I possibly could. Now, 13 years later, I know my stuff and don't feel the need to advertise that I know stuff. I just answer questions that I want to and everyone wins, without me looking like a fool

Also, regarding me losing you as a customer; I'm not too heartbroken. See, I don't sell my animals retail in your market, so even if you wanted one of my snakes, you simply couldn't have one. I'm here to be helpful with absolutely no gain to my bottom line whatsoever.
I felt the need to post on your "look at me, look at me!" post because like EVERY OTHER SINGLE PERSON on this site, we're all capable and willing to answer questions (every advanced ones and those about breeding) without shouting it from the mountain tops.
Your spectacle was hilarious to me.
