Albino Butters/Lessers/Mojaves

ehfieder Jan 27, 2013 11:01 PM

Hey,

Why aren't there more albino ball morphs out there? All there is are Albinos, Lavender Albinos, High Contrast (if you consider that a separate morph), and freakin Albino Spiders. First of all, why would anyone want an Albino Spider? I guess because it's primarily yellow? But more importantly to me, why aren't there Albino Mojaves (or Albino Butters or Albino Lessers) I'm trying to create a pretty diverse collection to breed with and I'm really itchin to have one of these. Someone help!

There are albinos of almost everything. You just need to look.

The Spiders are just what you are seeing for sale more frequently and are very reasonably priced now. My favorite is the Black Pastel Albino, holds that crisp contrast into adult hood better than most if not all of the Albino morphs. The Enchi Albino, Pinstripe Albino and the Champagne Albino are also very nice. What makes the Albinos even more interesting now, is the compatibility with the Toffee or Candy gene.

You're reading my mind. I can't wait to introduce my albino black pastels and albino cinnamons into the toffee/candy complex.

I think that we're all wondering what the Super will look like? Solid lavender snake? The next few years are going to be filled with lots of exciting stuff in the Ball Python world.

i have no doubts - the super black pastel or super cinnamon candino/toffino will be a solid lavender turning into a solid "toffee" color as it matures.

Here's a video of a Toffino that has colored up for those who haven't seen it.

I figured they've had to of been produced before, I just don't get why they haven't stuck around. I've looked all over for these albinos and can't find them anywhere. Do any of you guys know who might be breeding them? And any idea on the asking price?

Throwing in a recessive really increases the difficulty (compared to just co-dominant/dominant genes) so doesn't surprise me that fewer people are bothering and the ones that are being made probably don't need much advertising.

I'm going to try for albino super chocolate in a couple years. I only have chocolate possible het albino so not certain I can even make it and all my hold backs are also pastel and some yb so not sure what effect those will have. Hoping for a white snake with a small amount of intense and oddly placed yellow.

Randy, you and I are on the same path. I can't wait to see the Albino Super Chocolate. My Super male is going to a couple Albinos this season.
