Sexing Baby Vieled's (Spur on heel of male?)

Vargas Oct 06, 2003 08:21 PM

I heard the one breeder sexed baby Veiled Chameleons at 2 weeks by looking for a spur on the back of the heel? For small ones it was a white bump.
He mentioned that males had a spur while females didn't.
I wanted to know if there was any truth to this so I decided to ask here.
Has anyone done this or heard about it?
Thanks Steve

Yes it's true. Occasionally people see a small bump on females and wonder about it but you will know when you see that spur on the back of the foot..
