First lock of the year - and it's good!

JCarr Feb 03, 2013 01:14 PM

I hope I made the right decision in waiting until last night to begin my season. I picked up a new male in Tinley Park that was in birth shed, and was dragging my feet to breed as I was gonna get him to go or die trying. Believe it or not, this Banana Pin is just shy of 4 month's old and is locked up with one of my Emperor Pin girls!

Thanks Brad! I can't believe he is going strong like that. Who would of thought in Tinley? This animal is incredible, it absolutely glows! I am so glad I finally was able to get one. I am really fortunate because I've never had a male BP the ate in birth shed, after a 6 hour ride home! Then continue to eat everything offered to it, from rats, to mice, to frozen, and all over again. He just doesn't care, eats it!

By the looks of that picture, you made the right decision to wait! Beautiful snake and nice pairing.

LOL - Troy used to live about 40 minutes from me. Like myself, he is an old school enthusiast. I've been in the hobby 18 years and have met a lot of great people along the the way. As you read Troy's post, he not only moved, but left the snake industry nearly 10 years ago. When I step back and look at it, it's interesting how few long term friends I have that are outside the reptile hobby!
