Is this a brooks or a goini? hybrid??

heatwave Feb 04, 2013 09:26 PM

Bought this little guy at an expo. He was just labeled "flame king". No one seemed sure if he was a brooks or a goini or a hybrid or what. I cant seem to find pictures on the internet that look at all like him so I am just wondering what the heck I bought?!

It's what's known as a "blaze" goini. They will get lighter brown as they mature and lose the pronounced red juvenile coloration.

i work with tri-colored west mexican lampropeltis. some morph, some hobby, and some locale.

everyone is entitled to their options, but no one's opinion will ever change how i feel about the snakes i keep and breed.

Well now I see it.

Just to make sure the OP undrtands. A Blaze phase is not a hybridized goini. It is a recessive trait and not crossed into the floridana. Their is poplular one that looks similar as a baby and it is a cross between a Hypo Florida x goini.
