good thermostat for good price!?

kingsnakeadam Feb 08, 2013 12:29 PM

Im getting my rack set up and don't want to spend a whole lot of money on a fancy thermostat. I will be running a total of 16 feet of 3in flexwatt in 4 foot lengths. Is there anything reliable for a good price for that set up?

Hydrofarm MTPRTC Digital Thermostat For Heat Mats at Amazon for $31.95. This is a good durable thermostat; I use it with my incubator. It has only one plug port but it is very durable. For multiple pads a power strip solves that issue.

Zoo Med ReptiTemp 500R Remote Sensor Thermostat at Amazon for $26.50. I have several of these, all still working well at 5 years of age. But they tend to be sort of chintsy with the two plug ports wanting to come loose, so have been reinforced with electrician's tape. Also the dial wheel is needing to be used with a thermometer at the heat source, unlike the digital thermostat which is alot easier to set to the desired temperature.
