King in the toilet

kh70 Feb 12, 2013 11:12 PM

I had a Florida King get loose almost 2 months ago. I couldn't find him and figured he would just turn up. Well turn up he did coming out of my toilet! He was about a third of the way out of the hole and when I made my play he reversed back into the water and said hole quicker than i could grab him Question is how to get him out? Anyone have any ideas?

id turn out lights put some mice out and wait he will be coming back for air supply.
if its a house there is a "peetrap" door inline plumbing with main sewer and he wont get past that unless its "flushed" this is done via gravity so i wouldnt run water if thats possible.
he will come back up or he will end up in the main sewer check other bowls in the house as well.
good luck, hope you get him back.

inside the toilet there is a air trap, thats where it will be. Unfortunately, that means you have to reach in and up the toilet. yuk.

Hopefully it did not go into the sewer pipes. Also, there is a fold where the water comes out to flush, check there with a mirror, its under the top rim. best wishes

Also give him a stick or some other object to climb up out of the bowl. Something to climb on may encourage him to leave the bowl.

Pick up as much stuff in room as possible and seal doors cabinets etc with masking tape. Place a heating pad with a towel folded over it on the floor. He will come out when all is quiet and dark and he will be cold. Hopefully you will find him on the heating pad in the morning.

So its been two days so far...any results yet?
Not being able to use the toilet or run any water through the plumbing has got to be not fun! LOL!

Nothing. Tried luring him out and my hand is too big to reach into the bowl. He may have slipped out of there over the first night? If he turns up he turns up I guess. Thanks all for the tips, links and info!

Aww...too bad. Maybe he will turn up in some other odd place, like the clothes hamper.

I lost a baby pyro last fall. I think he went out to the front porch garden area; am hoping to find him this spring.
