corn growth...

labialpitstop Oct 06, 2003 09:06 PM

I just got a corn and I was wondering how fast they grow. Do they grow as fast as bps or some boas or do they take their time? Thanks.

by the end of next week it'll be twice as big...

well, not really but snakes, in my experience grow REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY fast if you feed them the most/safest possible...

My corns have averaged around 20" at 6 months, 30" at a year, and 40" and up at 2 years. (rough numbers) Not as fast as my boa grew (about an inch a week for 10 months I have recorded), but respectable nonetheless.

Of course, some just grow faster (and slower) than others. My neighbors have a yearling corn, fed 1x a week, that's at least 3.5'. My ghost corn is only 2/3 the weight of my other '01s that are just slightly older than him.

I feed my corns 1x a week, it's easier for me (and less expensive) and I know it's not too much or to little for the snakes. Growth doesn't really matter as long as they're healthy.
