Early Spring is in the air!

BobS Feb 15, 2013 02:27 PM

Hi All,

Just took a few quick pics. Some of the animals are beginning to come out a bit more since they are sensing early Spring.
It wont be too much longer and Winter will be done!
Hope you are all well.

Not a King but an animal that has loads of personality and is more in the "Pet" category. Can't wait till she gets BIG!

I see you are very busy with all your animals. How are the new Visions working out?

GerardS Feb 16, 2013 08:13 AM

Good, still working on that. The move and my kids have been taking all my time. Now I'm running smooth here so I'm going to start working on other projects.

That earns you an exemption on most things in life. Talk about stress! Wow.
Glad to hear things are leveling out. Life sure gets busy sometimes.

I'd like to see more photos of your habitat setup! Looks very clean and efficient.

My snakes are now out of their brumation chambers and in the main rooom in their habitats, but are still staying quiet, and not yet interested in feeding. When the nights warm up I expect they will become more interested.

I see you are busy in Pit land, not just Kings. Hope things go well for you this year.

I loved that Dumb Way to Die thing you posted! Lol

The fake rocks are great and are able to hide containers for humidity etc.

Hanging out...

One of the hides with moistened coconut. What's hidden behind the rock..

When they are active they just hang out relaxing and come and go as they please. Even when you're spot cleaning, filling a water bowls etc. I have to gently push them aside.

That is an awesome setup! What are the dimensions and where did you get it? I saw what looked like baby racks on one side.

Bob.
The larger Visions the Pyros are in are 72"x28"x18" I believe.

I like the 3' version too.

I use the ARS cb70 rack and animals plastics for smaller stuff.

I use/have used several Vision sizes. I know some folks don't like them but I switched all my Neodeshas to Visions. I like that they are nearly indestructible.

This is a favorite girl I thought you might like.

Nice!
I see that the vision cages are sort of dark, since they are solid on all sides except the front, so would really need a light source. Otherwise they are what I would love to have, especially for the stackable feature.

Thanks Bob.
As you know all our snakes are individual, but I find there are some that really appreciate the 3 solid sides more than others.
I have liked that a lot .

Near indestructable. Heck, if you took the glass out, you could probably just throw them down the cellar stairs and they are so lightweight, moving them around is easy.

Plenty of ventilation which can be covered with cling wrap if you want to limit it.
Some folks fault the interior lip above the glass and that a snake can hide there but if that's a concern, a strip of foam placed there is an easy fix.

They don't stain easily either. And they are waterproof.

I think you'd like them.

pyromaniac Feb 16, 2013 09:31 AM

Yeah, I liked the rattlesnake bit the best! LOL!
