Gutloading crickets or dusting?

btorgy Oct 06, 2003 09:12 PM

Have added two young Crested Gecko's in my managerie of Tortoises, Blue Tongues and Uromastics. Just wondering if feeding the crickets the high calcium cricket food is as effective as dusting them? And if you feed them gutloaded crickets, do you still need to add vitamins to the fruit? I don't want to overdose them, at the same time I want to be sure they are getting what they need?
Thanks,
Beth

My answer to the first question is no. My answer to the second question is, I would if you are feeding guloaded undusted crickets. What I would say to you about you last sentence is that it is pretty hard to overdose your gecko on vitamins. In fact, it is far easier to undersupplement. If over supplementing is a concern of yours, pick up a bottle of the t-rex(sandfire superfoods) Leopard gecko blend and dust away. Use it as often as you like without any worries of overuse. It was fomulated for daily use and has a nice amount of high quality protien added as well.
good luck
