I figured I'd try the baby chick trick and up it a notch with live prey. I guess sometimes they just aren't ready to eat. They almost look friendly, don't you think?

My Kunasir's haven't missed a chick feeding yet. In fact, I'm using baby chicks right now to get everyone ready for hibernation beginning Thanksgiving weekend. You are correct, they almost look like buddies in that pic.

Haven't tried the chick thing but mine (3' f)tends to go off feed for a month or so...Then it will eat for a few weeks. Best (consistant) feeding in the winter (I am in S. Florida). will only take fuzzy to hopper sized mice.

Last year he didn't eat from 8 Aug to 22 Oct. He's starting to show better activity again so maybe that pattern will hold up. Like you, I'm in the deep south - AL. I wonder if the circulating A/C during the hot months has an impact on them. Being a cold weather snake, I would have predicted the opposite pattern from what I see.
I sure do like these guys though. Maybe its a combination of the challenge and color.

Could be on the AC... I find my lady is more cooperative with a daily misting. but she really ticks me off when she kills fast and then leaves it. off course this pleases the heck out of my garbage can snakes!
