How do you find an escaped baby leo?

xelda Oct 06, 2003 09:57 PM

My Tommy has escaped! I'm feeling really bad right now, because I was going to move him from his shoebox to a 10 gallon just a couple nights ago, but I found a minor crack in the tank while I was cleaning it, so I decided to wait until I got a new tank. D'oh! I should have stuck with the original plan.

I kept him in my brother's room. It's a total warzone in there, and I'm afraid if I move things around, I might actually crush him.

Do you think it's better to just spend a lot of time in there and hope to catch a glimpse of him? He's only 4 inches, tail and all. Or should I do a thorough search and probably scare him into hiding with all the noise?

what i did when i lost mine was i put out a coupla large crickets ina container (so he'll hear the chirping) put out a heat pad, a hide, and a dish of water..

i turned on my light around 2 o'clock at night and there he was at the opening of my closet, so you could either do this, or he's prolly ina closet, so you could check in there..

and also, make sure the door is closed at all times, and try to stuff a towel under it that helps to not let him out....
