New corn snake owner questions

machinegun Oct 06, 2003 10:07 PM

I purchased a corn snake last Saturday at a reptile show in Phoenix, AZ. I finally got the enclosure all setup with under tank heater, basking lamp and hide boxes on Sunday. I noticed this morning that the snake defecated on the newspaper and the water in the bowl had some particles in it that looked like scales. My questions are should I replace the newspaper and change the water now or should wait a day or two so he can get acclimated to his new home.

Thanks

I'd go ahead and clean it now, then you can leave him in a clean cage while acclimating.
