Funny story......i've calmed down alot now hehehe

I woke up this morning and did my usual rounds, checking all of my geckos.... To my horror, Dot was no where in her side of the 40 gallon tank. I looked everywhere, thinking that there was NO WAY she could have gotten out cause the tank is 15 inches high and has a secure top. All of a sudden Abby (who has the other side of the 40 gallon) came out of her hide to check out what i was doing, then got curious about something on her side. I began looking and there was Dot, happily sitting behind a ceramic shoe hide. I put her back on her side, all the while scratching my head trying to figure out how she got over there.

Theres a small space between the top screen and the divider in the tank but its so high i never thought she could climb it. I moved all of her hides away from that side so she didn't have any steps up and hoped she wouldn't be able to find a way over.

Tonight after work however, she was back on the other side, this time laying across the opening of the shoe hide again happy as a pig in mud. So i've put that hide on her side since she appears to like it so much.

All of the posts about lost geckos just made me freak when i couldn't find her. She's such a cutie, i couldnt' bare to lose her. As for Abby, she didn't seem to really care that Dot was there. The life of a gecko owner, never boring hehehe

My next to last Jungle hatchling escaped 4 days ago and I have yet to find him. Wish I could be so lucky he was hiding out with the hatchlings next door.

I'm just glad these two are both females. My first reaction was to check for injuries. They just seemed to be ignoring eachother and were both fine thankfully.

Soon i'll have my new unit up and Abby and Dot will have their own large tanks You'd think with all the room the two have now that sneaking over to the other side wouldn't happen hehehe

i myself had three animals escape this weekend... spike (beardie) escaped when i left the cage screen off.. he was supposed to be burmating.. i found him sleeping under my bed wedged between two bins.. and i also had two female mice escape yesterday.. but they are so noisy i heard them even before i knew that had gotten out... live mice creep me out; i think i should have thought of that before i started a colony of breeder mice .. i thought these were cute though because they escaped together and were "playing" in the same area... i took there wheel out to be cleaned and they got bored and decided to go play in the extra lizard supplies.. i was a lil frantic too when spike escaped since i have 5 very lizard hungry dogs and the herp room door was wide open...

Its scary having animals disappear. When my brothers had their hamsters they would always escape and we would spend days trying to find and catch them.

Dot & Abby's tank is on top of my entertainment unit right now so it is very high. A fall from there would certainly be fatal. Many people would think i'm crazy for saying i'd be heartbroken if i lost any of my guys but i would be!!! I really love them all
