It looks healthy.
I dont see the apeal to WS gene. In my opion it takes away from every snake it has popped up in or hybridized into.

i work with tri-colored west mexican lampropeltis. some morph, some hobby, and some locale.
everyone is entitled to their options, but no one's opinion will ever change how i feel about the snakes i keep and breed.
Some are good and some are stupid? Lol, I know what they say, but isn't that just their opinion?

That's why I said it looks healthy. I didn't want to seem like I was bashing him or the animal, just how I feel abut the morph in any species.

I just post pics. I used to waste a lot of time arguing on here and see people, the same people actually, are still at it.
I appreciated the healthy comment.
I have given away snakes for free I felt were sub par that grew up to be better animals than those some folks got from well known breeders.... all my stuff is healthy.
I have dealt with some harsh things over the years, things can happen to anyone but I learned a lot in the process.

I have always liked the WW specks you work with from Vandeventer, Tom. Especially the recently discovered strain from the Lafayette Parish Bayou Vermilion District. The way they remain so contrasty and totally normal patterned and colored on the dorsum is just insane!
cheers, ~Doug

I still have 2.2 hets. They're great snakes indeed. I get tons of eggs without even feeding them much.If I breed them this season I may feed one female as much as she wil take which will be a lot... and see if her eggs are larger and yield larger , easier to care for babies.
Or maybe not.... been really into my Pits

Those revered locale gems are awesome in my opinion..

I don't think I can keep them in Texas? I loved them too but that is a hard snake to deal with. People pick them apart and get into the real or not real thing and I have always liked Southerns. I think I have 5 pairs now? I made het Sonoran Gophers I hope breed too, at least one female would be fun

Oh yeah, forgot about the Texas and Louisiana law thing there.
Same thing with southern Pines here where I'm at..LOL!
A guy in North Carolina had to pass on some of my Outer Banks a couple years ago because of the native wildlife law there as well.
I think I can own an obvious morph of Sothern here like amels, but definitely not any normals. Something like a hypo would probably be a real "grey area" too I would think?

You can keep Southerns here. I think there is a limit and you're not aloud to sell any. I think you can even buy them from out of state or catch your own.

Check this out... for years I saw Albino and Snow Southern Pines and NO Axanthics. I drove people nuts with the history of Snows. In Florida it is a touchy subject as the truth is Axanthic Southerns can look exactly like Wild Type normals as adults even if they hatch out Silver.
I myself was producing Axanthics for years and didnt know til I got my first Snow. The fact the babies brown out makes it hard to prove they are Axanthic.
I kept a pair and have been holding them for a friend. If he doesn't take them I am gonna keep them to see if I get all Silver Axanthic babies...
Then it gets better. A friend of mine bought a pair of Southerns from someone... that guy got normals... my friends bred them and got some BLUE Axanthic babies... I mean they reminded me of Axanthic Brooksi... I have a male I am going to breed to my het Snow female to see if the 2 genes are compatible...
It is a pretty solid fact no one cared about any of this except me... but I stick to my guns. Maybe I will find out more soon...

Heck yeah,..I remember you mentioning some true snows (axanthic x amel)a few years ago versus the patternless white pines everyone referred to as a "snows". And all that stuff a good while back regarding the so-called "snows" and amels, but nobody had ANY of the anery/axanthic ingredients for MAKING the snows that everyone had in the hobby. Just like "ghosts" in the Ball python hobby that doesn't involve the hypo gene..LMAO!!..
Cool that you are making some good headway with that project.
