Off topic: But I expect I'll find help..

Found a clutch of slider eggs. Giving some to a relative and a neighbor to hatch. I'm assuming they can be incubated pretty much the same as colubrid eggs. Couple questions:
1) Can I safely fry and eat a couple of them?
2) Can I mail a couple of them to a daughter elsewhere? The eggs were just laid yesterday (I mention that because i suspect IF shipping them is possible, it would be dependent upon where the eggs were in the developmental stage).

OK guys, smarten me up...

mail them as rattlesnake eggs via USPS.

See what they do because they allow turtles to be mailed.

1) I fried and ate two of them 24 hours ago and i'm still kicking, so answer to that question appears to be, "yes". They weren't very tasty, though.

2) I found some online vendors who sell turtle eggs so I'm guessing they could be mailed before development began. Mine are now 48-60 hours old, so maybe too late to try mailing them now. Good news is, I no longer need to anyway, so...

Whoa, how many did it take for an omelet?
Should I expect you to ask "ya want chelonian on that?" next time we stop for burgers?.....btw, the sliders I ate were actually just mini versions of my favorite sammiches....
