Albino Tangerine Honduran Pic...

Renaissance Oct 07, 2003 01:15 AM

This is not the best picture, but it does show how well true Albino Tangerine Hondurans maintain their color and beauty as they mature. This male is about 2 years old.

We hope that you enjoy seeing this beautiful animal.

Thanks.

hi

one of the nicest albino honduran i've seen. very nice looking snake. i've seen what others call "tangerine albinos" but to me they looked more "apricot." looking at it more closely it even looks like what i would think a "hybino" would look like. can you tell us about its lineage/history? i would just like to know who is responsible for my temporary blindness, hehe awesome snake. take care.

Jonel

ps. included a pic of my male "goggle-masked" pinstriped hypo.

brian sharps animals?I was also told that he was crossing his albinos into black milks? That would explain the look of the animal.
I do recall him selling his whole project a couple years ago on the net.

Anyways,It is a nice looking milk snake.

We're glad that you like him.

This snake was not at Daytona. We did have one at our table that is very similar looking...but it wasn't this male.

nategodin Oct 07, 2003 11:55 AM

Interesting... how did the offspring turn out? Does Brian Sharps have a website?

The lack of an a apostrophe to indicate the possessive form threw me off. :P

I bought some albino hondurans from Brian a couple of years ago. Shortly after this he advertised his hondos on this site saying he was getting out of them. Included in the list were a breeding pair consisting of an albino hondo and a black milk. He was hoping these would produce hets for a snake that would progressively turn white like a black milk turns black. As far as I know he sold the animals at that time but I haven't heard of anyone breeding them and announcing the outcome. Maybe over on the hybrid forum...

Renaissance Oct 07, 2003 12:47 PM

At one time, Brian was working with an Albino Tricolor and a Black Milk with the idea of possibly producing a nice Snow.

It is also a 100% fact that Brian has never bred a Tangerine with a Black Milk.

To be honest with you, I get pretty fed up with the whole "I heard..." and "Someone told me..." rubbish that gets repeated by one or two people until everyone accepts that "It has to be true...look how many people are saying it...".

Even "eyewitnesses" can sometimes be wrong. Shannon stated (as a fact) that he had seen "this" snake at Daytona. I can guarantee you that he did not. This snake was snuggled up in Massachusetts during the entire Daytona show. What Shannon actually saw at our table was another similar male that we have.

In conclusion:
This Albino Tangerine Honduran is exactly that...an Albino Tangerine Honduran. No Black Milk mixed in...no Albino Nelson's mixed in...no ball python mixed in...
We were thinking of breeding him to a retic, but that's another story...

P.S. For those having no sense of humor, the "retic" bit is a joke...

pweaver Oct 07, 2003 01:41 PM

sorry, wasn't trying to make any reference to your snake, I was only answering the question regarding Brian Sharp's project.
My knowledge of the project isn't 2nd hand either - Brian told me about the project directly, and also offered to sell me them when he was getting out of hondos. I wasn't interested in hybrids though.
Again, I wasn't making any reference to your albino tangerine, I was just answering the question about Sharp's project. Don't get your panties in a wad...

Renaissance Oct 07, 2003 02:14 PM

I think you misunderstood what I said...

I was agreeing with you that Brian had been working with Albino Tricolors and Black Milks. Apparently Shannon (or his source) took this fact...and the fact that Brian has been working with Tangerines...and then proceeded to create their own "fact" that Brian must have bred Tangerine to Black Milk somewhere along the line. If you re-read my post, you will see that I agreed with what you said...and then I went on to address what Shannon had previously said.

Please show me where I said anything that indicates that I think you said anything bad about our Albino Tangerine.

Perhaps you should re-read my post and your response, and reflect on which of us has actually "got our panties in a wad".

pweaver Oct 07, 2003 02:23 PM

sorry, i misunderstood....

Renaissance Oct 07, 2003 02:42 PM

Not a big deal...

It's kind-of-tough writing posts that convey exactly the sentiments that you're trying to convey. Sometimes I think I've made myself crystal clear (or at least not too muddy ) only to find out that someone has taken what I wrote in a completely different context.

Whose fault is it? No one's, really. In person or over the telephone, it is much easier to convey the true spirit of what you are trying to say. Any kind of written matter (forum posts, for example) are another matter entirely...

I think the best chance we as forum posters have to try and avoid as many misunderstandings as possible (we'll never get them all ) is to liberally pepper our posts with smilees...

Who told you that these particular animals came from a cross involving Black Milksnakes???

Whoever they are, they are seriously mistaken.

Even if Black Milksnakes were involved in the picture (which they are not), why would this explain the beauty of these particular animals???

It's very easy for people to make disparaging - and incorrect - remarks on these forums that then cast doubt as to the genetics of particular animals. Watch...I'll show you how easy it is...

Someone told me that Shannon was produced by crossing a lemon meringue pie with an apple strudel...this would certainly explain why Shannon thinks the way Shannon does.

I'm not trying to be funny, and I certainly don't have the time for a long and protracted debate. I just want to make the point that you should exercise prudent judgement before making comments such as the one you made regarding the genetics of our animals.

That's it...I've had my say..I'm off my soapbox...

Thanks...

shannon brown Oct 07, 2003 08:27 PM

Wow,
I had no idea????????LOL.....
Well how many of these things do you have?I saw you had two at the daytona show and I assumed that the pic you posted today was one of them?If not then my bad?
Second,(help me here people)if it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck its a _ _ _ _.
Third,You said something about how we need to conduct ourselfs on this forum? This is the first thing I have ever seen you post in five years.I think it would be like me going on the ball forum and telling them how to post?See my point?

well anyways,Like I said they are great looking snakes no matter what they are.

1) We have...some. It's really none of your business and is certainly nothing that we feel inclined to share with you. Yes...we did have 2 at Daytona...but not this particular animal.

2) Are you saying that because this animal looks like the animal we had in Daytona then it must be the same one??? If so, please put your money where your mouth is. I will put up $1,000 against your $1,000 that I can take a picture of the 2-year-old we had at Daytona and this 2-year old...side-by-side. Let's find someone to hold the money that we both trust...I suggest Terry Dunham. If I post a picture showing 2 stunning 2-year-old male Albino Tangerines, I get the $2,000...if I don't, you get the $2,000. What was that line that I love from Dirty Harry..."Are you feeling lucky...?".

3) What is your point? I'm not allowed to say anything in response to the false statement you made about the genetics of our animals because this is the first thing you've seen us post in 5 years??? Even if we had not posted here in 5 years, what has that got to do with the price of eggs? Perhaps you missed our posts of some of our Albino Tangerines when they hatched 2 years ago. Perhaps you missed our posts of these same Albino Tangerines last year when we showed how they were maintaining their color as they matured. What about the snow that we posted on this very forum within the past year??? I would agree that we post more on the Ball Python Forum than we do here...what has that got to do with anything? We predominantly work with Ball Pythons, so we naturally are more involved with the Ball Python Forum. Then again, perhaps we should post more on this forum so that you can make outrageously inaccurate observations about the genetics of our other animals.

Perhaps you would now care to answer my original question...
"Who told you that these particular animals came from a cross involving Black Milksnakes???". You implied that our Albino Tangerines are as stunning as they are because they have been bred with Black Milks, and I would like to know the basis for that.

I have no idea what kind of person you are. You may be the greatest guy in the World...you may be a waste of both time and space. I have no desire to judge you, yet when you make such a brazen attempt to slam the genetics of our animals (especially on this forum where genetics always attract attention) you expect me to be happy about it???

shannon brown Oct 07, 2003 11:55 PM

Leave it to the spioled rich boy to try and make money of this?I never said that it had to be and with out a doubt was the snake in daytona.I have already been over this but I will do it again just for you.
I said"""""""I saw you had two in daytona and I asumeddddddddd that the one you posted was one of them? Now go ahaed and raise it to 3000000000.000 and I will do this again?

Aagin,It seems like the one thing you want most out of this is the person I heard it from??????Why does that matter? Its none of your business who told me?(I stold that one from you cupcake).

You also said that you were sick of always hearing about how they were probably crosses????So that tells me this is just old hat for you yet you really want to know my source of info?

You should just ignore people like me. if you think they are pure it doesn't matter what other people think? You blew this thing way out of porportion and then tried telling us how we should conduct our selfs on here?I just don't get it.

Well anyways,Like I said its a very nice snake and congrats on the snow I hope to produce some someday myself.

I don't know brian at all but if you do maybe you could ask him to come on here for a few minutes and bury the hatchet? It work last year when a bunch of people were posting snakes that were siblings to something else?

Show me where I said that I am "sick of always hearing about how they were probably crosses". What I actually said was...

To be honest with you, I get pretty fed up with the whole "I heard..." and "Someone told me..." rubbish that gets repeated by one or two people until everyone accepts that "It has to be true...look how many people are saying it...".

This is a general comment on the kind of rumor-mongering that you seem to want to engage in...it says nothing about "hearing about how they were probably crosses".

It no longer matters to me who supposedly gave you your inside information...perhaps some imaginary friend? You have demonstrated to me in this thread that you are someone who apparently has no logical train of thought...and who is obviously a little on the childish side.

"Spoiled rich boy"??? "Cupcake"??? You denigrate the genetics of our animals, and I am a "spoiled rich boy" and a "cupcake" because I ask you to back up your baseless assertions...and you cannot???

You are right about one thing...I should (and will) ignore people like you...actually, not even people like you...just you.

shannon brown Oct 08, 2003 12:43 AM

Had to look didn't you?Thought you were going to ignore me?
Yeah I am just a big kid.

bye bye now
