What are the main caging/husbandry differences between IJP's and JCP's?

Out of curiousity and mainly to help me decide on which python I would like to get, I'd like to know the main differences between the IJP and JCP?

I've ready many care sheets and both snakes seem somewhat similar.. What else is there to know in differences, ie., size, temp, humidity, etc.?

Are there any recommendations of either/or? The cage it will be in can either be tall or long, will build it after I decide which to get and which is more suitable to the chosen species..

Also, I keep reading that jcp's don't like rats? Is this true? Can they be coerced into taking rats?

The requirements for jungles and IJs are basically the same. If you want to decide which one to get, pick the subspecies that you think is the most attractive. Jungles do get a little larger than IJs, but this difference isn't very significant IMO.

Both jungles and IJs can be hard to get to take rats at times; however, most of them will switch over pretty easily to rats. The best advice I can give you is to start offering rats as soon as you can while the snake is young.
