He ate the vegetables, he ate them!

Flavia Guimaraes Oct 07, 2003 08:32 AM

After one day and a half of complete starvation Muffin,my URO, ate the veggies i put in his cage! As he likes to eat round and small pieces (lentil's shape!lol!) he ate the boiled beans sprout and the boiled brocolli small trees. After he ate the boiled corn. Im very happy! But i still have a problem! He used to pee inside his lentil's bowls. Now that i took the lentils/millet bowl from his cage he is not peeing at all! What should i do?

Good work, we told you he wouldn't starve
I don't think there's any reason to worry about him not peeing. It's quite possible that he is peeing elsewhere when you're not looking. My uro doesn't really have a specific spot where he'll pee, he'll just do it when the urge hits him. Uros will not always pee, they only do so if they have an excess of water in their bodies.
Glad to hear he's getting back on his veggies. Another good thing to feed him (and it will help fatten him up too) is thawed frozen peas. Ra goes crazy for them. Put some of those into his food bowl along with some greens and you should soon see a very happy uro

Good luck

yay! see uros are smart, they wouldnt completely starve themselves. as for the peeing, well my guys hardly ever pe. maybe once a month if that. they get all the moisture they need from the greens, nd any excess they pee out. so i would just wet his greens a little before you put them in, and wouldnt really worry about that much.
Good luck and congrats

Glad to hear he finally is on the path to eating his veggies! Now you can keep introducing other leafy greens and I'm sure he will enjoy his nice salads .
good job!
