Making a reproduction cal king (pics)

Kerby... Apr 21, 2013 04:58 PM

Yesterday I found one of my 1st year cal king breeders freshly dead. Since I know a good reptile taxidermist .....I went ahead and decided to make a reproduction of it.

I used GI 1100 silcone for the mold and IE 3030 2-part polymer for the cast. I decided to paint it more like a traditional cal king since I will be competing with the mount and would not want to confuse the judge lol.

Too bad about your losing him, but its cool that you can use him for the contest. Wish you the best.

That was a nice looking Cal king. Looked like it was purple. If you made one stretched out, you could pull pranks at a well known roadcruising spot for herpers. lol

Gosh- I was thinking the same thing. That would be a blast to use that!
