Help with C. binctores

herpin1579 Oct 07, 2003 09:17 AM

I have had my pair of binctores for about 6 months. They are kept at the right temps and have a good basking spot. They dont seem to like crickets but prefer waxworms. How often should I offer them crickets? I was putting 5 crickets in for each lizard everyday. But they usually only take one or two. I know a diet with too many waxworms can be unhealthy. What should I do?

Thanks,
Mike

What I do when my lizards won't eat...I won't feed them. After a few days without, they will be more eager to eat what is offered. You essentially have trained them to wait for desert. Kind of like kids. Offer them ice cream or asparagus, and they will prefer one over the other. If I really want them to eat the asparagus, I only offer asparagus. The other alternative is to cram it down their throat. I do this method with my lizard, not my kids LOL

I'm sure a lot of lizards would like that too.
