Is belly or back heat a must???

Does anyone keep their ball pythons in racks with no supplemental heat? Can they be kept with just ambeient room temps of 85 degrees??? Thanks in advance for any responses

yes...you may keep balls with no belly heat

I did it for almost 20? years.....I had a hundred ? balls and just 24 had belly heat.....just make sure it's really 85 to 87 degrees in the tubs......this means if you have racks ....the bottom boxes will no way be warm enough.....I kept balls in the tops and middles....males in middle....then bottom boxes I filled in with snakes that like it like 78 to 80 -ish.....I had Korean rats, hondurans,ridleyi, different milks and kings....big corns and ratsnakes even....stuff that survives cooler than balls.....

good luck....use a couple thermo guns or thermometers....don't trust one....
