Anyone have a problem with there Kingsanke eating small rats, my snake will eat mice but when the pet shop is out of mice and I get a small rat of the same size he will just try and kill it but not eat it

Some of my Cal kings in the past refused rats as well. Maybe if you could sent them with a mouse it might work.

I noticed that with my Eastern King some years ago, seemed she wouldn't eat rats...she appeared even scared of them. Then I noticed something I hadn't noticed before...Kingsnakes mouths don't separate and spread as wide and open as most other snakes, so they are unable to swallow the larger prey items. It's not a rat thing though...my Eastern King will suck down rat pups and just weaned rats as voraciously as she will adult mice.

The rats were the same size as the mice for the most part, I did find some mice, put one in and you would have thought I've been starving my snake, it was cought and eaten in seconds and then eat another about 30min. later

If it's not a size issue, then the suggestion RossPadilla gave would be my next suggestion as well...put the rats in a box that contained some mice, get that mouse scent on them...that might work.
