I googled some hognose pics the other day, and ended up coming upon a pic that was either an amel eastern, Mexican, or southern....NOT western. the pic was credited to tom crutchfield unfortunately...but I wont post my opinion on him, probably get banned forever...but anyways, anyone know anything about it...and what ishas been done with this animal? thanks

Looks to be an Eastern (H.platirhinos) to me.

I have known Tom for many many years and hes a friend. But I did not do live reptile stuff with him.

He did loan me a shell of one of his galops and we molded it.

I have a feeling if you lived near Tom, and had to have regular dealings, it may not stay fun. Best wishes

I can't believe people can rape the world and get burned and do whatever (not necessarily anyone ,cough, in particular...)...then noone actually talks about it or acts like anything happened at all....there are alot of rapists out there.....if you touch a 17 year old girl, and you are 18...they want to skin you alive....but rape the Earth....and noone cares.....I have no idols in the snake world anymore...noone is better than anyone else more or less....and the internet made it all too equal..........

Which brings up many points. First, why would you care about people being better or worse??? That seems to be common. And all that can happen is failure. You know, finding superman in the bar smoking and drinking and hanging with nasty girls.

I will ask, while no one ever and I mean ever thought of Tom as a conservationist, in any sense of the word. I would think the operator of a D-9(big arse tractor) in Fla, would have done more actual damage to the envirornment, then all the Toms and ross allens put together. Or the company that owned that tractor. I pick on the D-9 cause it can be disassembled and air lifted into back areas. you know a cancer from the inside out.

The point is, picking on the scab from a mozzie bite, when half the body is blown off.

Have you ever kept a wild reptile or took one from nature? or lived in a house. Or drove on a road, or own a car. Or bought food from the store??????? If you answer yes to any of these, your a rapist too. I guess it boils down to degree!!!!!

with tom, it goes WAY deeper than just the reptiles...and that is all I will say about this subject...ok, maybe a little more. I would go as far as to say the bs that happened here while back...when his 'buddy' tried to kill tom, and his wife...then killed himself, probably had a lot to do with toms bs...the guy is a pos on the highest level...and I would say his bs, lying, cheating, and stealing is the reason his buddy went ape sh*t...and I don't like a lot of people, but I do like several other people...I try not to judge, but I would not mind playing executioner sometimes...like a vigilante hit man, lol. I would be very good at that job. nobody is perfect, but there is a line that once someone crosses it, there is no place for that person on this earth...nuff said.

Thats some weird stuff, I think I talked to him once after Belize and long before the partner shooting. At the time that happened, I was in the field with a friend, that was on the phone with someone at the facility. Weird.

THere is a person on the west coast that did that same type of stuff over and over.

I could tell something was going to happen when I saw Tom spending all sorts of money and gathering animals that would not return that investment. I knew somebodies money was going out the door.

But thats not of my business and I am not close enough to that part of the hobby to even want to know what actually happened.

In cases like that, I let the law take its course. Best wishes

If memory serves me Tom Crutchfield had an albino eastern hognose that was WC somewhere in Fl. Steve and Kelli Hammack had an albino Mexican that ultimately died. I'm sure if you contacted any of them they could help you out. They are all good people.
