Good question!
I heard that people have moved over to Facebook. I don't really "get" Facebook, and miss the activity that used to happen here, even the fighting and insults! LOL!
By the way how is Strike?

Strike is doing better, thanks for asking. I gave him his heat back and that helped. His heater went out and I thought he could get by with out it. Apparently I was wrong.

I'm not a big fan of face book, when they went to time line.

Here is picture I just took of my '08 pyro Zane with a full belly. He has finally broken his fast which began late last summer and proceeded all through breeding season. I was beginning to worry he would never eat this year!

Do you just go to kingsnake.com's face book page? Or Do you join a group? What is everyone doing?

there are several groups that have been set up. however, i only keep lampros so i've only joined a couple that are dedicated to what i like.

of the few that i'm a member of, i think that jorge's (a153fish) one is the most frequented. it's dedicated to all colubrids: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ColubridCrazy/

diego ortiz created a similar one, but hybrid discussion is forbidden (jorge has been very good about not allowing hybrid discussions in his group to degenerated like it so often does here), hence the name "non-hybrid colubrids": https://www.facebook.com/groups/498287090221982/

jimmy (KcTrader) created a group dedicated to locality lampropeltis and thus named: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LocalityLampropeltis/

i believe (although i may be mistaken) that all three moderate each of the groups. since they are closed groups there is zero tolerance for trolls. people who post garbage or try to incite other members are almost instantly removed from the group. additionally, if you don't like a members view on a particular topic/issue you can just set it where you don't see their posts/replies. very good for those who sound like a broken record. haha

it's also a lot easier to have private conversations with people too

anyway, hope to see you over there (and all of your pictures) soon davy.

I like to talk snakes and other hobbies...but facebook has no appeal to me and neither do hybrids.

DISCERN May 11, 2013 08:12 PM

True Dat!!

I do see both sides of the coin though. However, for me, I just don't care for the format on Facebook.

I am giving Facebook a try, but find it somewhat confusing. For starters I accidentally checked the wrong gender button when joining and the edit button wouldn't work so I had to do a whole new membership and abandon the first one.

I really like this forum so much better.
