Super pitaya boa 2013 post shed.

zenzinia May 24, 2013 03:20 PM

Pitaya and super pitaya boa have been very long for their first shed.
Here are some of the super pitayas, pink allmost purple, in one month when the the babies grey will be gone they will be much lighter and collorfull. They will never devellope black and allmost no yellow like their 8 year old mom !
They must be seen in person

For the europeans, If you want to see them, I’ll be in Houten the 2 of june with an other litter I haven’t shown !
Thanks for looking.
Alain.

Very cool animals.
I like the name but not sure if same meaning for you as it does me.
Pitaya is Dragon Fruit in spanish, is this what you were aiming for? The pink color of the fruit? I can see why they would be named after it.

That's it, the fruit also have the same continent origines and is protected by 'scales'.
Thanks.
Alain.

forgive me. I just am not up on aztecs and such. How do these guys differ from Aztects? They look the same to me. Thanks. Mike Panichi

They differ in almost every thing from the aztec if you take time to look.
Pitaya is a co-dom/incomplete dominant mutation, the super pitaya beeing the homozygote form (super)
Pattern are different both on the back and on the sides, the colors are different. What is unique and specific to the super pitaya is the side, lack of black, unique pink color and as they age they don't devellope black and yellow on the sides.
They will produce the most collorfull albinos aver that will not muddy up and will hold color with age.
Thanks.
Alain.

Pitaya vs super pitaya. This super having a different from the previous one, more red/orange than pink/purple, not the best example of their color lol

Super pitaya, just shed today.
